Each one Teach one - Navid's story

Each One Teach One is a dance piece about Breaking and Hip Hop culture. The catchphrase at the center of Breaking and the title of the piece is also the sum of it's philosophy. As each individual gathers insight and discovery, they must then pass it onto another person to keep the culture growing and flourishing: Each one teach one. The show itself is about a critical passage in Navid Resvani's career and life. It is about his journey from isolation to pilgrimage and discovery to inspiration. Writing the show with Navid was an intense experience.

Breaking is most often related to the impactful effects of the physical tricks that the breaker executes for the awe of the public. Here in Each one Teach One my aim was not only to tell his story and bring forth Navid's extraordinary charisma and stage craft. But also to bring to light other aspects of the street dance language. To highlight the lyricism and poetry. To render it theatrical by using the movements to push the story forward. With the wonderful generosity of Navid and the other cast members I think we managed well, and in fact it became the best selling dance performance ever produced by Riksteatret.
